Finally we have this hard-to-find 1980 classic by the legendary Bay Area documentary film maker Les Blank who filmed the "American garlic revolution" as it happened. Classic scenes of Alice Waters' Chez Panisse menu in Berkeley which helped propel garlic to the top of the culinary scene, breaking down our nation's long standing taboo against "the stinking rose". The tape is spiced with great Cajun, French Provincial and Mexican music and scenes from the very first Gilroy Garlic Festivals.
