Shallots have a far more complex flavor profile than your typical onion. These great shallots have a pungent raw flavor that mellows and sweetens when cooked. Perfect for gourmet recipes and anywhere a standard onion is called for. They are uniform in size and have copper skins and a creamy yellow flesh. They are excellent keepers. They are fairly tolerant and can be grown in acidic soil down to 5.0 pH, but prefer 6.0-6.8 pH. Best when planted in fertile, well drained soil in the coldest part of the garden. Plant with the tip even with the top soil and water when planting. Water again when soil has dried out. These are smaller size shallots. US/C Premium Label, pesticide free, non-GMO
